Current Activities in India

Health Interventions: The early intervention centre/outreach camps run by Shishu Sarothi, Guwahati in Goalpara continues to provide early intervention services to children with disabilities (0 to 14 years) and capacity building of parents. SESTAA provides funds for the engagement of a project coordinator, field workers, physiotherapist, special educator and speech therapist. In addition, funding has been given to engage professionals to enhance the services provided by Prerona (the Spastic Society of Jorhat) to the disabled children in their school and from the neighbouring community.

Provision for carers: SESTAA supports Shishu Greh to engage a carer for disabled children. We provide for the salary of one qualified nurse to take care of the disabled children.
